The intrepid seamen, coming from Tyre and other city states located in what is now Lebanon start trade with the Pitiusas Islands. The Phoencians trade salt, fresh vegetables, dry wood, weapons, wine and olive oil and deal in gold and silver jewellerey, tin and lead, crystal ware and others. They also bring material purpura dyed material and grapes, figs, pomegranates and citric fruit. The Ibicenco hound is introduced to the Baleares, which probably originated in Egypt.
Above: The god Bes, an equatorial African God who was adopted by the Egyptians as protector of Isis, Osiris and Horus. Also present are a mother goddess, Melkart, Reshef, Astarte and others. The metal with the Phoenician writing was found at Es Cuieram.
