'Cuba Libre' 195cm x 92cm (2006 Acrylic)Sanson was inspired by hearing of Fidel Castro's struggle with stomach cancer and also to mark his 80th birthday, the celebrations of which he was too ill to attend. The scene is a salsa dance studio in La Habana, with El General puffing on one of his beloved Cuban cigars and a little boy jumping for joy. |

She is the goddess of fecundity and war and she is holding a thistle and pomegranate which are her symbols. She has become very famous in Ibiza, where her feminine attributes appeal to 'New Age' people. |
