| XVIII - The Civil War | XX - The Hippies |
The war is over. It is time for reconstruction and the renovation of fincas. The building of new hotels for tourism will change the economy. Es Camio, the old bus from Ibiza to Santa Eulalia is ready to go. On the right the hippies arrive, welcomed by an elderly Ibicenco lady. There are worried glances from a couple with small children.
Some hunters going to the marshes, workmen at the Salinas salt flats and the little train that carried the salt to the harbour. The Guardia Civil are watching tourists bathing nude to give them a fine.
Below: Traditional flutes, a drum and 'castanyoles', two home made guns, bottles of country wine 'vino payes' and local drinks of Frigola and Hierbas made from aniseed and local herbs. Ibicenco baskets and 'espardelles' woven from jute.
