Carthage, founded by the Phoenicians near Tunis, takes over the trade in the Mediterranean. By 654 B.C. the island population is basically Carthaginian.
Soon they have to compete with Rome and fight the Punic Wars far from the islands which are not directly affected. However, Hannibal, who may have come from the tiny island of Conejera hires Ibicencan slingers for his army to fight the Roman legions.
The Punic Wars with elephants and Roman war machines. On the right a treaty is signed and Ibiza becomes a Roman city, and is named Ebusus.
