Christian customs and religions are well established on the islands. A few churches are built. A young wealthy couple are watching the men at work. On the right Christopher Columbus (Cristobal Colon), who some say might have been a Jewish convert from Catalonia or Ibiza, is selling his projects of discovery to the Catholic Kings, Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabel of Castille.
A couple of mules are treading the corn to separate the husks from the grain on an 'aria'. In the centre, peasants sort the grain while being observed by rich, city merchants. Bread is being baked in a typical bread oven.
Below: Aragonese and local emblems, a Jewish candle holder (since the Balearic Islands had an important Jewish colony). Tools and bread making implements.
